Duke University Press Journals has transitioned from Highwire to the Silverchair platform as of late November 2017. This transition to Silverchair will provide a more integrated user experience for all humanities and social sciences content from Duke University Press, granting researchers more opportunities to discover related works and other content relevant to their needs. The new site is also natively mobile, adapting to devices of any size.

The Carter Joseph Abrescy and Larry Kranich Library Award for Student Research Excellence was established in 2017 to recognize outstanding undergraduate research at UC Merced. The award recognizes a research paper or project produced for a credit-bearing course within the last 12 months that demonstrates effective use of library resources. A committee of faculty and librarians will review applications and select awardees.
