Academic Search Complete

A multidisciplinary database that searches articles in the arts, social sciences, humanities and sciences.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar is a search engine providing access to scholarly articles. Some of these articles are available for free and can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection. However, most of the articles are only available through library subscriptions and can be accessed only while on the campus network. Use UCe-Links to get the full text of the article or to get the article through Interlibrary Loan.

Use Melvyl to search for articles and books available at UC Libraries and libraries beyond.  To search specifically for articles, enter your subject term(s) and click the search button.  On the results page, use the "Article" link under Format to show only articles on your subject.

Search by subject or browse full text of more than 500 scholarly journals in social sciences, humanities, and sciences, to their earliest issues. Many titles extend as far back as late 19th or early 20th centuries; most recent 3-5 years not included.

Web of Science

This searchable database includes diaries, letters, autobiographies and other memoirs, written and oral histories, manifestos, government documents, memorabilia, and scholarly commentary.
