As part of the Library's current digital exhibit ("Simplicity/Complexity: Digital Works of Ryan Hoover"), the Library and SSHA will be sponsoring a screening of the extraordinary 1975 documentary "Eadweard Muybridge, Zoopraxographer". The film will be screened in the Library, room 208.
Afterwards, meet featured artist Ryan Hoover in the Lantern (KL 155) while viewing his digital works. Hoover is a photographer, musician and new media artist. In "Simplicity/Complexity", he re-animated Muybridge's photographic studies of human locomotion to synthesize imagery with perceptually transitional states of representation and non-representation, recognizability and non-recognizability.
