Update: New & Continuing Resources and OA Investments

The California Digital Library (CDL) has posted an article outlining both resources and open access (OA) investments for 2025-2026 for use by UC faculty, students, and staff. Three systemwide groups, involving all 10 UC campus libraries, collaboratively selected resources.

The Joint Steering Committee for Shared Collections (JSC), the Shared Content Leadership Group (SCLG) and the Project Transform Working Group (PTWG) used guiding principles to identify resources of “high value to the UC system”.

Central funding, rather than local campus funding, has been used to license these resources. In addition, the California Digital Library (CDL) has made contributions.

Updates to scholarly communication investments are also summarized. Open Access Initiatives include pilot projects focused on “the opening of UC-authored monographs” whether those are new or previously published titles. UC Libraries are also contributing to some Diamond Open Access (OA) journals.
