RefWorks Cancellation

Due to budget constraints, the UC Merced Library will be discontinuing its subscription to RefWorks later this year (December 31, 2025). We encourage users to export their references as soon as it is convenient.

Nancy Burke, Professor of Public Health at UC Merced and Claudia Corchado, the Deputy Executive Director of Cultiva Central Valley, have collaborated to mount an exhibit showcasing the images and stories of 12 Mexican American farmworkers who have worked and lived in the Central Valley.

UC Merced Welcomes Acclaimed Author Mark Arax as Inaugural Writer-in-Residence

The UC Merced Library and the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (SSHA) are pleased to announce that award-winning author and journalist Mark Arax will serve as UC Merced’s inaugural Writer in Residence for the 2025–2026 academic year. Arax will deliver an opening lecture on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 3:30–5:30 p.m. in Classroom and Office Building 2, Room 110.

GIS Workshops

The UC Merced Library's GIS Center will be offering two workshops this Fall Semester: 

Creating GIS Maps on the Web will be held on Wednesday, September 24 from 12-1:30pm in KL260

This workshop will guide you in accessing UC Merced's ArcGIS Online GIS portal and the tools to build web maps. Learn how to create and share maps using ArcGIS Online, a web mapping portal free to staff, faculty, and students.

ArcGIS StoryMaps will be held on Wednesday, October 8 from 12-1:30pm in KL260.

Introduction to ArcGIS StoryMaps, a presentation software for creating attractive, multimedia reports incorporating interactive web maps.

UC Merced Library to Celebrate Opening of New Data Hub

The UC Merced Library will officially open its new Library Data Hub on Thursday, September 11, with a celebration from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on the third floor West of the Kolligian Library.
