UCOP’s UC Libraries Digital Collection Project is a winner of the 2016 Larry L. Sautter Golden Award for enabling all UC libraries to create, manage, and make accessible to the public hundreds of thousands of digital assets ranging from historical records and maps to photographs and films. Services include a shared digital asset management system that all campus libraries may use, a tool to aggregate and index digital content across collections, and the Calisphere website that allows the public to explore UC’s archival treasures.
The annual award, sponsored by the UC Information Technology Leadership Council, recognizes collaborative innovations in IT that advance the university’s missions of teaching, research, and public service, and encourages collaboration and solution sharing across the UC system.
