In honor of National Library Week, UC Merced Library is celebrating our first ever Amnesty Week!

For one week only, all fees will be waived on overdue items that are returned undamaged between Sunday, April 12- Saturday, April 18th, 2015. Even Interlibrary Loan books! Items can be dropped off at our second floor Services Desk or in the Library book drops. Avoid paying fees and for those of you graduating soon, return your overdue items to avoid having a hold placed on your transcript. Swing by if you have any questions, or e-mail us at library@ucmerced.edu.

Release of the New Calisphere

Wed, September 16, 2015 12:00 AM

Calisphere has released their new website. Currently in beta mode, it includes all of the existing content from the old Calisphere site, plus 70% more digital items from libraries, archives, and museums throughout the University of California system and across the state.

Compiling more than 400,000 digital photographs, maps, diaries, letters, drawings, newspapers, oral histories, sound recordings, moving images, and other formats, the new site also boasts a more user-centered design, and great new features:

* Fully responsive design, accessible on tablets and mobile devices

* Collection and institution browse and landing pages

* Filters for type, decade, collection, and institution

* View and sort options for further customizing

* A “sticky” search results carousel that tracks a user’s search while on a specific item

Also included on the new site are UC Merced’s first set of costume designs by Dunya Ramicova, the Japanese Assembly Center Newsletters and other local history items.

CDL will be adding more collections and functionality over the coming months with the goal of replacing the old site in late 2016.
