New Location
The GIS Center is now located in our newly expanded lab space in KL 330 in the Kolligian Library.
Our new lab offers dedicated workstations for researchers and on-demand support for geospatial analysis, technical software assistance, and data management.
Computing Hardware
The computing hardware in the GIS Center has will have 12 Maingear workstations with the following specificatoins
- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K (24 Cores | 24 Threads | 5.7GHz Boost)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER (10,240 CUDA Cores | 16GB GDDRX)
- 64GB T-FORCE DELTA RGB (DDR5 | 6400MHz | 2x32GB)
- 2TB T-FORCE A440.
- Workstations are equipped with larged curved display for superior visualization
- Height adjustable desks for seated or standing
Software
GIS software including ArcGIS and QGIS are installed on all machines with regular updates. Other programs including R and Microsoft Office are installed for our users. The GIS lab will also has private consultation area for focused group work and project work.
